【Koshida Accounting Firm Column Date:】
Hi, my name is Taisei Koshida, and I am a certified public accountant and tax accountant.
I aim to assist non-Japanese business owners who need help with reading or writing in Japanese. If you find the Japanese tax return system challenging, I can help you with your tax filings.
This blog may help if you are unclear about the overview of their educational background and proficiency in Japanese.
Regarding foreign managers in Japan, I will provide an overview based on the 2021 survey by the Japan Finance Corporation.
The last educational background of managers
56% of them graduated from universities and short-term universities, while 30% have postgraduate degrees, indicating a high level of education.
Proficiency in spoken Japanese
About 9% speak at a native level, 54% are fluent, and 22% can handle business conversations comfortably. Many of them graduated from Japanese educational institutions, and approximately 90% have lived in Japan for over ten years. Therefore, it seems that most of them have no difficulty communicating in Japanese in daily work situations.
