What is the Invoice System in Japan?
Japan’s Qualified Invoice System determines the documentation requirements for businesses claiming input consumption tax credits.
In general, a consumption-taxable business calculates the tax payable by subtracting eligible input consumption tax from consumption tax collected on taxable sales. Qualified invoices are important when claiming these input tax credits.
